Access Employment

Securing a job can be a difficult task. Our bespoke 12-week ‘Access Employment’ programme will guide you through everything you need to know when entering the world of work. We will work with you to develop your knowledge and skills so that you can confidently find and apply for your dream job!

  • Develop the motivation and confidence to find employment
  • Work with external mentors, potential employers and specialist Access to Work advisors
  • Meet people living with deafblindness who are in employment

Course content

Through a mix of one to one and group sessions, we will explore:

  • Motivational change
  • Choosing a career
  • Education, training and re-training
  • Self employment
  • Searching for vacancies
  • Writing a CV
  • Disclosing your disability
  • Interview skills
  • Work behaviour and working with others
  • Access to Work
  • Disability Employment

Ongoing support

We don’t just leave you to it after the 12 weeks! At the end of the programme, you will have a personal action plan and an understanding of how to move on to the next steps in a way that suits you.

You will also have support from an employment coach for three months after finishing the course.


Accessibility

Our Access Employment course is a supportive and enabling learning environment with access to NRCPD language service professionals and accessible documentation throughout.


Cost and eligibility

This course is free and is available to people aged 18 – 60, living in the UK who are not in full time employment.
